Unarmed Attack Variation and Blocking by claudiosf (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74327)

DESCRIPTION:
===================================================================================================

Unarmed combat in Skyrim is tedious. Outside of the pitiful damage, the mechanics are clunky: you
can't block, there are no perks, and damage doesn't scale with any skill at all. Requiem improves
some of this, but doesn't go nearly far enough to make unarmed combat interesting or viable.

This mod changes all of that by introducing a system of unarmed combat, blocking, and related perks
that picks up where Requiem left off:

 - Whenever you are unarmed, you can perform blocks by attacking with your left "weapon". Attacking
with your right "weapon" will produce alternate left and right punches, even if your left hand
contains a spell. Unarmed bashing can be performed just as with a regular shield.

 - An Unarmed Stance item is automatically added to your inventory upon starting the game with this
mod enabled. This "weapon" cannot be dropped or disarmed by any means, and is used to perform
special unarmed moves. Because the Unarmed Stance is based on Skyrim's built-in unarmed weapon,
you don't need to worry about unequipping or re-equipping it for brawls.

 - Unarmed perks are spread out among the existing skill trees. To maximize your effectiveness as
an unarmed fighter, you will need to diversify between the One-Handed, Two-Handed, Block, Sneak,
Smithing, Heavy Armor, Evasion, and Pickpocket skills. However, you do not need to invest perks
in non-unarmed parts of the skill tree.

 - The Fortify Unarmed enchantment is stronger and now scales using Requiem's enchanting perks.

 - The Transmute: Muscles spell has been weakened to accommodate new forms of unarmed damage.

 - With full investment in all unarmed perks, a fighter's raw damage is slightly less than that of
a daedric sword, with enough armor penetration to defeat the undead and even Dwarven constructs.
Enchantment and alteration bring this damage higher, but fists still won't quite match expertly
   tempered/enchanted daedric weapons.

 - All perks are compatible with brawls, provided you have the Modern Brawl Bugs Patch. The special
effects of certain perks will be automatically disabled during brawls to prevent an unintended
   assault or crime.

A list of unarmed perks is provided below. In Requiem fashion, the specific numbers of each perk
will not be revealed to you in game:

 One-Handed:

Martial Arts I: You are a passionate fist-fighter and can now deliver much harder
punches to your enemies and even knock them off balance.

Martial Arts II: You have applied your increasing knowledge of unarmed and single-handed
combat to make your punches even more fearsome.

Unarmed Mastery I: After mastering multiple forms of unarmed combat, you are now able to
sometimes disarm your foes while bashing.

Unarmed Mastery II: Even dragons, Dwemer, and the undead tremble at the unstoppable might
                            of your fists.

 Two-Handed:

Bludgeon I: Your understanding of heavy weaponry makes it easier to crush your foes
                            with a single punch.

Bludgeon II: You have learned how to exploit weak points in your enemy's armor,
making your punches even more powerful.

 Block:

Unarmed Defense I: You have learned how to defend yourself against even multiple blows
                            while blocking in unarmed combat.

Unarmed Defense II: A good offense is the best defense, and your counter-punches now have
                            no equal.

 Smithing:

Smash I: Your knowledge of metallurgy allows you to exploit weak spots to
deliver deadlier blows and stagger weaker foes.

Smash II: Your fists have become nearly as strong as your hammer and can now send
                            foes flying.

 Pickpocket:

Unarmed Reflexes I: A good pickpocket moves quickly...and when fully unarmed, you can make
                            your fists move quicker still.

Unarmed Reflexes II: Foes rarely see your punches coming - a handy distraction while you
                            pocket their coin.

 Sneak:

Lights Out I: Through careful study of blunt trauma, you have learned how to
                            sometimes immobilize your unwary foes.

Lights Out II: Further study of blunt trauma and anatomy has made all unarmed sneak
                            attacks lethal.

 Heavy Armor:

Fortress: Knowledge of heavy armor has taught you how to withstand heavier blows
                            while blocking in unarmed combat.

 Evasion:

Agile Fighter: By combining your knowledge of evasive footwork and unarmed combat, you
can sidestep even the strongest blows with ease.

The requirements for each perk are fairly straightforward. However, to obtain the Unarmed Mastery
perks, you need to first obtain any two second-rank perks in the other trees. For the second rank
of Unarmed Mastery, you need to obtain at least three second-rank perks.

This mod synergizes very well with the Dragon Souls Experience System -- check it out!

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS (v1.1 from v1.0):
===================================================================================================

Follow the regular installation instructions below, overwriting all files.

INSTALLATION:
===================================================================================================

1. Copy the "Data" folder from this directory to your main Skyrim directory (this is usually found
in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\Skyrim"). If your load order contains Non-Essential
Children, rename the "Data_NonEssentialChildren" folder to "Data" and copy that instead.
2. Activate "WhisperingFangUnarmedCombat.esp" with your mod manager of choice.

To uninstall, just deactivate the ESP and remove all added files.

KNOWN BUGS:
===================================================================================================

It is safe to load this mod in the middle of your playthrough; however, if you have already brawled
at least once in that playthrough, you will have two Unarmed Stance items in your inventory. This
doesn't affect gameplay at all; however, if you find it annoying you will need to remove the second
item via the console, as these items cannot be dropped normally.

SKYRIM SPECIAL EDITION USERS:

This mod was designed in Skyrim Legendary Edition and WILL NOT WORK with Skyrim Special Edition. If
you decide to convert this mod to work in Skyrim Special Edition, I would be happy to bundle your
converted version with this mod and give you due credit -- just send me your conversion.
