DESCRIPTION:
===================================================================================================

Let's face it: low-level Illusion spells in Requiem are awful. Due to the chance-based mechanics,
a simple bandit will break free of virtually any Fundamental spell after just 4-6 seconds. At lower
levels, the chance to keep a bandit charmed/enraged for longer than 10 seconds is just 10%! It is
virtually impossible to reach the natural maximum duration of any spell until skill levels 40-50.

This mod fixes the problem via three formula changes:

 - As your current maximum magicka increases, your Illusion spells become harder to resist. Low-
   level players can use the Necromancer's Amulet and other equipment to make spells more potent,
   which fits with Requiem's analogy that high magicka represents a "more powerful/focused mind".

 - The "base power" of an Illusion spell is now influenced more strongly by your skill level. Many
   spells in Requiem such as Charming Touch have no high-level counterparts. These low-level spells
   become useless against high-level enemies even if your character has 100 Illusion. In this mod,
   Fundamental spells become as powerful as baseline Advanced spells upon reaching 80 Illusion,
   ensuring they stay relevant in the mid- and late-game.

 - Targets can only break free of a successful Illusion spell once every 5 seconds (instead of 2).
   This small change actually makes a huge gameplay difference. If a bandit has a 35% base chance
   to break free of your spell, in vanilla Requiem there is only an 11% chance for you to keep that
   bandit enthralled for 10 seconds (0.65 ^ 5). That's barely time to do anything! In this mod, the
   chance becomes 42% instead (0.65 ^ 2).

This mod only changes the "break free from Illusion magic" script in Requiem and should be
compatible with nearly everything else.

REQUIREMENTS:
===================================================================================================

Skyrim Legendary Edition
Requiem 1.9.4 (will *probably* work with newer versions)

INSTALLATION:
===================================================================================================

1. Copy the "Data" folder from this directory to your main Skyrim directory (this is usually found
   in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\Skyrim").
2. If prompted, BACK UP ANY REQUIEM FILES FIRST, AND *THEN* OVERWRITE THEM.

To uninstall, just remove the script added by this mod and replace it with Requiem's original file
(you DID back it up, right?).

SKYRIM SPECIAL EDITION USERS:

This mod was designed in Skyrim Legendary Edition and WILL NOT WORK with Skyrim Special Edition. If
you decide to convert this mod to work in Skyrim Special Edition, I would be happy to bundle your
converted version with this mod and give you due credit -- just send me your conversion.
